What We Do
Events
At SENDER Adventures, we are always in development mode, coming up with unique, exciting and just flat out fun events.
First, with the hiking, biking, kayaking and running world being saturated with races, we decided to do something a bit different with the way we design our experiences. We call it Adventures Gamified!
Coddiewomple
Our current offering is the Coddiewomple. What is that you say?… Glad you asked. It is very similar to an adventure race, in fact when finished with the concept, we discovered several races existed and we are grateful others have paved a way for our “game in the wilderness “.
What makes the Coddiewomple a bit different is that game play is all on foot and there is a bit more strategy and tenacity involved. Just imagine if Lazarus Lake (creator of the Barclay Marathons) decided to put together a scavenger hunt in the woods!
Game play is simple, collect as many “waypoints ” as you can and get back to the finish before time runs out. Waypoints = points and the quicker you get back = points but be aware….there are twists to this game! All in all, it’s a pretty freakin’ good time in the woods!
Camps and Retreats
Another concept in the works is SENDER Camps. We are designing a camp for kids that takes summer to the next level. It will function similarly to your typical one week format. The camp will be packed with some really cool and memorable activities, as well as, workshops and teambuilding for your adventurous kiddos! We’ll keep you you updated!
….and how about this?! A camp for adults!….more to come!
Custom events for your group
We offer customized events, tailored for your organization. Whether your a small private group, company team building or a youth group, we can design a package for you. From guided hikes to adrenaline-filled challenges, we put together every event to cater to your group’s needs and preferences for an unforgettable outdoor adventure. We can keep it as simple as a day outing to a fully immersive experience, handling everything from meals to lodging. Our goal is to ensure your group has a seamless, awesome adventure.
Trips
SENDER Adventures hosts epic backpacking trips and day hikes designed for all ages and skill levels. Explore stunning landscapes, discover new places make unforgettable memories. Let us take your group on it’s next Adventure!
Backcountry Backpacking
A quick overview for those who have limited or no experience- Backpacking is basically combining hiking and camping in remote areas. It involves carrying all necessary gear including shelter, cook system, food/water and personal items such as clothing in a backpack and going out into the wild for multiple days….Trust us, its a great time! To learn more, contact us about setting up a Workshop for your group.
So, what do our trips look like? All of our trips have at least one guide. Larger groups may have additional guides. Most of our trips are designed and planned for hikers who have their own basic gear. We can provide some gear items for a rental fee for those who do not have certain items. Depending on the trip and skill level of participants, meals may be provided. Any extra snacks and food are the responsibility of the individual hikers. All trips will be tailored for your group and will have a description of what is inclusive, mileage, elevation gain, camping accessibility and environment.
Where do we go? We are always adding trips to possible itineraries. Where we go depends on guide availability and interest. Some of the trips currently being offered are as follows-
- Two Lakes Loop Trail – Hoosier National Forest
- Various Trails – Mammoth Cave National Park
- Rush Ridge to Hanson’s Point Loop – Red River Gorge
- Garden of the Gods Loop (custom) – Shawnee National Forest
Day Hikes
For those wanting just a few hours of solitude and a quick get away, day hikes are a great choice. This is definitely hiking simplified. No need for a larger sized backpack or even a pack at all in some cases. These hikes are guided as well, but lean into being more instructional for those who have never been hiking before. A good comfortable pair of athletic shoes, a small day pack or fanny pack and water is all you really need to bring. Of course, snacks and a pair of trekking poles is recommended and don’t forget to bring a camera or charge your phone. Even though these are shorter trips, expect to get some fantastic photos and video! Some offings for day hikes are –
- Scotts Gap Trail – Jefferson Memorial Forest
- Red Trail – Horine Reservation – Jefferson Memorial Forest
- Millennium Trail – Bernheim Forest
